Yes, you saw that right. It is in Ringgit Malaysia, not US Dollar. This offer is from Exabytes a pretty famous Malaysia Hosting company. This offer is only valid until 12 March 2007.

This is the cheapest I have seen by far, previously, I have registered a domain through yahoo for USD2.99/year, which I did for five years, pretty good deal if you plan to continue the domain for a longer period.

Back to RM0.99/year for a domain is dirt cheap for someone who wish to try starting their own blogs, website or a community page for a test one year period. Exabtyes also offer some pretty good hosting packages.

      Actually I’m shopping for the right place to get my own domain.

      I want to continue having blogspot to host my content. Suppose I only need to get a domain name and create CNAME within the DNS. It’s free if I buy from GoDaddy.com (and a few others as stated in blogger help).

      However I contacted a local web hosting company and they told me that I should pay them for domain and hosting.

      So, should I actually buy a domain name from foreign website instead?

      As for the CNAME I don’t think that a local domain provide could provide you with those. If you are looking for a low price for the first year. Try :

      It is only USD1.99/yr (1st year only). Next is USD9.95/yr (you can try transfering it out next year I guess)

      If not godaddy.com and domainsite.com is doing pretty cheap for the same price every year.
