Slingbox is actually a gadget which broadcast your home television to yourself. You will never miss your favorite show or the superb shot by Ronaldo ever again. This is because you are actually broadcasting your home television to the internet, then you could retrieve them through your Laptop or your mobile device.

You will be allow to control your satellite tv channel or cable tv channel by using Slingbox. It even supports TiVo. Which means you could watch, replay, rewind, fast forward your TiVo when you are stuck in a Traffic Jam, waiting for your dentist appointment or even at your classroom :) .

This is how it look like for Slingbox in action.

It actually have 3 version

  1. Slingbox Tuner
  2. Slingbox AV
  3. Slingbox Pro

It is actually quite a cool version. I just wonder if how many people can actually download the broadcast TV. What if you have your brother who is elsewhere and want to watch the same football match??

Also, you will need an Internet upload speed of at least 256kbps, and recommended speed is 512kbps.  Malaysia Streamyx speed with 1Mbps package is only 18.9kbps :( and download speed is 47.9kbps. Haha, how embarrassing.

Anyhow this is a cool gadget to be invented and this is not a paid post, I would actually hope that I own one of this and able to use them in Malaysia.

I am an american and have a slingbox that I use since I live in Penang. I travel all over Asia and it works fantastic — unless I’m at home. I have a corporate 1.5dl/1.5ul line that I pay over RM 600.00 per month for at my house (Streamyx, of course) and I can barely muster 100kbps on Slingbox.
