Wordpress Plugin Thief
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Or you could get Wahlau.NET daily post through your email. Thanks for visiting!
If you are found a wordpress website with some plugin that you think it would be suitable for your blog, this is what you can do.
- verify blog address (http://www.url.com/blog or http://www.url.com)
- add wp-content/plugins/
- you will be able to see something like below
- Now you have to use some common sense in finding the plugin you are looking for.
- If you don’t know, just copy each php file and search for it in google.
for example here is the famous John chow plugins:-
http://www.johnchow.com/wp-content/plugins
NOTE: you will not be able to download them directly from their website because the server will compile the php into html file before sending to you.

ermm, is this some sort of loophole?
i don’t think is a loophole…you should be able to protect the directory…but anyway can only view the file in their plugin folder, and you can’t actually download it.
You can ‘hide’ the directory by placing a blank ‘index.htm’ in the folder.
Yes, it is a loophole.
ahh…thanks for the information.
Heh Wahlau I am more personally fond in your previous theme.
gosh, that’s a good tip. i am already adding index.html in which ever folder that doesn’t have it
yup…indeed it is..i have added them too
nice info. I never realized this before that I think I’m going to use index.html method to protect my download folder after this.. -_-!
