Permalink for Wordpress

It may seems easy to install Wordpress onto your server/share hosting account. Most hosting company even have one-click installation for Wordpress since it is so widely used worldwide. But keep in mind that after installation, you should consider changing your permalink in order to have better Search Engine Listing.
Your link will appear like this:-
http://www.wahlau.net/2007/08/08/permalink-for-wordpress/
http://www.wahlau.net/tips/permalink-for-wordpress/
http://www.wahlau.net/permalink-for-wordpress/
*Noticed that the title of the post could be included into the link.
If you were to install them in the later stage, all links will still works but you it will take time for Google to relist them with your new posting link.
How to activate Permalink?
- Login as admin
- Options > Permalinks
- Use Custom
- /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
- will appear like http://www.wahlau.net/2007/08/08/permalink-for-wordpress/
- Copy all words in the textbox below (click inside textbox > ctrl+a > ctrl+c)
- Open a new text document and click ctrl+v
- Click File > Save As
- type “.htaccess” as filename (type with the inverted comma)
- choose All Files from Save as type.
- Then click save and upload them to your blog directory.
