How to Hide Your License Plate

Friday 5 September 2008 @ 12:12 pm

Hiding License Plate would actually keep you away from ticketing. This guy from New Jersey uses it to avoid paying toll and the camera would not be able to capture the plate number.

They should do this in shows like Transporter.

I guess if the same truck/car travels through the same toll, they would eventually catch the person. The next trick is to have it replace when you pass by the camera. Maybe replacing the license plate with a fuzzy / blur, so they they would think that it is an error with their camera focus.

Beijing Ticketing Scam

Tuesday 12 August 2008 @ 3:54 pm

I am sure that most people already know that BeijingTicketing.com is a scam website trying to get other people credit card and personal detail by selling Beijing Olympic 2008 tickets.

For those who don’t know about this could read them at  CNN news. This picture sourced from CNN is a print screen of the BeijingTicketing.com before it is shut down few days prior to the Official Opening Ceremony of Beijing 2008.

This is a huge blow to those who are scammed, even more for those who flew there thinking that they will be at the stadium rather than looking at the haze of the fireworks outside the stadium.

Unfortunately, Google is even acting slower. As of today 12 Aug, 2008, A search for “Olympic Tickets” still shows that BeijingTicketing.com at the second placing. FYI Cosport.com is the official Olympic ticket seller for United States.

Another news from LiveNews actually show the fake tickets sent to them and they look very real to me. I can’t blame those who wants to see the opening ceremony so badly, but when there is a demand, someone will try to supply. This is just the very basic of the economy.

Even an Internet Entrepreneur who runs an online retailing website fall for this:-

David Boctor, a Los Angeles Internet entrepreneur who runs his own online retail store, paid beijingticketing.com $12,230 for hard-to-get tickets to the Olympic opening ceremony, swimming and diving.

He told the LA Times he became suspicious when the company stopped answering his phone calls in April and his credit card was charged for airline tickets he did not buy.

[From Australian IT]

The person behind this Terance Shepherd from British is believe to be the mastermind behind BeijingTicketing.com. I think he is smart enough not to get caught since he did not get caught so far.

Advertlets is Gone, no more, poof!, history???

Saturday 5 January 2008 @ 7:48 pm

It is sad to see a company going down so fast. I thought it was a good idea to have an internet advertising company base in Malaysia. A whois shows that they have renewed it to 2009, then why is it look like expired?

This company is having some problem issuing payment to the publisher in recent months. I have read a blog which receives their payment months after they are eligible. But I guess he was lucky to receives his Advertlets payment on 25 Dec, I tried to enter that page to view the comments, it is forwarded to some abaaz website. Are they hacked or are they closed?

My word of advice if you are having Advertlets on your homepage, Remove Them! You do not want your traffic going to some cyber-squatting website with advertisements.

Check out the print screen

Wonder if Nufflets will end up the same? The Nufflets’ founder is from the Advertlets. But the advertisements have some significant difference.

Google backlinks is updating

Wednesday 8 August 2007 @ 11:28 am

Althouth I have much more backlinks that claimed, Google have finally updated my backlinks to a total of 195 links. It took quite a while for them to update the backlinks, as I am trying hard to build the backlinks.

Anyway, off this topic a little, I have plans to move the blogging tips and tools, or you could say the nerdy stuff out of Wahlau.NET to a new domain (not decided yet). Wahlau.NET will maintain its part as a entertainment website as the domain implies. What do you think?
