For those who would like to start blogging and do not want to come out with money for a domain and hosting could try some of the free wordpress blog out there. They are actually using Wordpress MU. Some of it out there also allow you to have your own adsense, whereby you are able to earn some money without spending any money.

Blogging is not easy and blogging for money is even harder. Therefore you will have to take not of this. If you give up at the middle, everything you have blog for is gone.

Of course, if money is not an issue, Wordpress.Com is definately your first choice. This is because you would be almost certain that they would not close down the server the next day.

Blogspot is a good alternative but due to the lack of controls and functions, eventually people will switch to some other platform such as wordpress.

Does the title sound familiar? These words are so common now a days:-

• Creating residue income
• Start a business with no money/ little money.
• Work at home, potentially USD1000/week.

And I would say that 90% of them are scam and 10% of them is actually possible if you work hard enough.

But, creating a website would have a huge potential of creating wealth. It will actually a depends on your creativity.

Why create a website?

1. It is cheap! - There issn’t much business investment which you could enter by investing USD90.40/year.
2. It is easy - There is a lot of scripts out there which you could use them for free.

What are the cost?

The cost could actually be lower than USD90.40/year, but my rough estimation is as follows:-

Domain Hosting - Hosting with HostGator for USD6.95/mth (paid yearly).

Domain hosting basically is a place where you store your website on a computer/server which is connected to the internet 24/7. It is recomended that you find a reputable hosting because if your server is down, no one could access your website.

Domain Registration - Buying Domain from MyDomain for USD7.00/year.

Domain registration is buying www.yourname.com (.com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/.us). You could also buy regional domain such as com.my, co.jp, com.mx, tw or cn (but this usually cost more than USD7.00/year).

What is the tool you need?

It would depends on what you would like to do with your website.

• Have a new idea - This would require you to have a customize script, which would require addational investment by you. But this is usually a one time cost. If it pick up, you will have more money to hire programmer to have alteration.
• Blog - If you would like to blog and make money out of it. It is easy, all you have to do is to choose a platform which you would like to blog with. Currently there is Wordpress, Movable Type, and Blogger (FREE and could earn you potential income) which are comonly used, all of this platform is free for your to use (personal use). Your income source would be usually from Advertisements, but currently you have the option to have people paying you for posting about their products.
• Forum - If you have a group of friends and would like to attract all people around the globe who shares the same interest as you. You have the option of various platform to be used phpBB, punBB, vBulletin (not free), and miniBB. 
• Looking for new ideas - no problem, you could start browsing for free/new scripts from Hotscripts. They have tones of scripts submitted daily and some of them may be useful and could also be free for use.

What are the potential?

The potential out there is huge, there are bloggers out there who earn 6 digit income a year. Most blogger who are succesful are blogging about the things they love doing and continue to update their blog daily (or as much as possible).

Forum is always fun to start as it would actually require little or even no commitment from you. As topics and discussion are started by users, there is no need for your to generate content. Users could also be your moderators to help control your forums, and answers to those who need help.

Ideas such as milliondollarhomepage.com, is a one time thing, but even if you have the idea and do not know how to make it, you could hire someone to do it for a very low price as the scripts is actually very simple. What is the potential? A million pieces of the Americal dollars, with just a simple idea.

My google backlinks actually drop to 174 links (just 1 link drop), from my previous post regarding link love and no follow from home plugins installed.

I was hoping that my backlinks listed by Google will actually increase as I am expecting a PR increase on the next update. Unfortunately, my backlink actually drops, while Yahoo! shows that I have increased from 14,523 to 21,371 links [but Yahoo! takes in account for nofollow links as well. Therefore leaving comments would actually increase Yahoo! backlinks.

Are you a weekend blogger? Notice the colour changes, learn to do it at Wordpress WYSIWYG.

I notice that there are a few blogs which does not get updated during the weekend, I think this is because they are not at their office. I try to blog as much as I can and when I have a topic which I could blog about but not according to time, weekdays or weekend.

I like to blog during the weekend when I am free at home because I have more tools and bookmark with my own personal desktop computer.

Once, I tried blogging few post and having them timestamp on Monday and Tuesday. It was pretty easy. All you have to do is to find “post timestamp” on the right side of your editor, then edit the time/date to the date you are comfortable with.

Notice that this is posted today, but it was actually written a day before. Which make this a weekend post.

I have been trying to find plugin for WYSIWYG and notice that TinyMCE is actually pre-installed in Wordpress 2, but I wanted to have more function and buttons.

And I came across an article teachin me how I could add WYSIWYG without uploading any plugins. It is actually embeded with your Wordpress 2.

All you have to to to activate this extra function is:-

• Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox : Click Alt + v when you are in your editor

NOTE: visual editor needs to be enabled.

You will be able to see the following function:

• Underline
• Font Colour
• Paste as plain text
• Paste from Word
• Remove Formating
• Cleanup Messy code
